Public Mtg -Waterfowl Hunt plan for Gulf Islands National Seashore-FL Panhandle

Hi folks,

I'm assisting the National Park Service draft a Waterfowl Management Hunt Plan (WMHP) for Gulf Islands National Seashore. Duck hunting has been allowed here for quite some time under 3-year general agreements btwn FWC and NPS. This project is to create a longer-term joint FWC-NPS management plan to allow duck hunting and reduce staff time doing renewals every three years.

See attached public meeting announcement (8/30/11) as well as other methods for providing input. Hope to see some of you at the meeting!

I asked Clint Murphy, S GA/ N FL DU Rep who was in Ocala on Fri afternoon -Sun, to FWD this info to all his DU chapters in the area. Many of them attended the first public meeting to support hunting. I expect them to return to the meeting tomorrow night and/or submit written comments.
