Thurday evening I attended a teleconference with the FWC staff in Tall. regarding methods to change rules and regulations. There is mostly some housekeeping adjustments to aline the marine and other regulations left over from the combination of the FWC into one unit.
In all the many pages of print, one item effects our group, the ability for the local FWC office to adjust rules based on local events....ie the high water in the WCAs that stopped hunting for a while. I wanted to be sure the local manager....currently Chuck Collins....could rapidly address issues with Tallahassee and get approval in a short time (as per the current rules).
The FWC lawer went through the legalize wording line by line and explained to me (and Chuck who was also there) how the ability to act would not be effected by the new procedure. We were assured the process would be as current and only a few days would be needed at most to get approval of petitions from the local manager.
