I was speaking with Dennis who is spearheading the DELTA Youth Hunt at STA 5, supported by UW-F, and we noted that in the past the hunters had done a general clean up of all trash as they left the STA. The Youth Hunt is the last time hunters will be on the STAs until next season and we want to leave them super clean to prevent any complaints from the SFWMD.
There is no reason the clean up needs to be restricted to STA 5 as STA 3/4 will also have hunts.
THEREFORE WE ARE REQUESTING ALL HUNTERS AND SPONSORS TO LOOK FOR ANY TRASH, SPENT SHELLS, ETC. IN THE STA OR ON THE LEVEES AND PLEASE PICK IT UP AND TAKE IT OUT OF THE STA.
THANKS TO ALL....AND I MIGHT ADD THE SFWMD HAS NOT ISSUED A SINGLE COMPLAINT ON TRASH THIS YEAR.....A GREAT RECORD ONLY BECAUSE ALMOST ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE HUNTED ON THE STAS HAVE BEEN GOOD STEWARDS OF THE PROPERTIES.
