Anybody out there got an extra boat blind for small (12-14') boat lying around? Or maybe you want to sell yours so you can ask Santa for a brand new one? Doesnt need to be fancy. Was thinking of building one, but running out of time.

Post reply or email to me direct.

P.s. Less than 3 wks to go to 11/22......

before i got my new war eagle last year, i had a little 12' jon with a 6hp we hunted out of and made a blind for about $30 and 4 hours work one saturday. we just went to ace hardware and bought some 3/4" pipe with some elbows and t fittings. made a rectangular top section that was the same size as the boat and put 3 t fittings on each side, pointing down for legs. we bought screw in adapters and cut the legs the length we wanted. this way, we could unscrew the legs and the blind would sit on the bench seats inside the gunnels. went to walmart and bought a package of the camo material and cut down some palm fronds off the side of the road on the way home. worked pretty good for a couple poor college kids.

when i got the new boat, it was bigger and required something more rigid and i felt like i needed something fancier so i bought the avery. i do love it, but i still think about how much $$ i spent on it!

if you are interested in building your own, check out the boats, blinds & gadets forum over on the refuge forums. there is a TON of pictures, plans and ideas from people that have built their own. it really doesnt take as long as you think to physically build it once you have a design. all depends on how much money you want to spend.

I have an Easy Up blind made by Flyways something. It cost $600 and I'll take $150 for it. It is really a neat blind, fits a 14x36 is shadow grass, and meets in the middle. It has strong metal framework. It comes up from the ends and has a lapping panel in the middle so you can get the dog or your buddy in the boat easily. It is a more user friendly blind than my beavertail blind.

Thanks, Harley, but I bought the exact same blind from a friend of Hit n Miss up here in Thomasville, Ga.

Here is the link to the manufacturer, Flyway Specialties of Ochlochnee Ga.

I agree its a great blind and easily installed on my 12' v hull. The prev owner had it on a 14' john. It folds down in seconds and is totally out of the way for travel and loading.

Mine is 5-6 yrs old and has a shorter 'skirt' than shown on the link, but frame and structure are same. As you can see, $150 is a good price for anyone else needing cover.

10 more days......
