My wife's boss, Glenn, is undergoing a bone marrow transplant today for Leukemia. She's worked for him since she was a 17 year old kid and he is like a father to her... he is also striken with the same disease (ALL) that killed my best friend Ray a couple of years ago ... after watching Ray fight for his life for nearly three years, this thing has a horrible sense of deja' vu.
If your a prayerful person, we'd appreciate it if you could remember Glenn in your prayers.
Hes a decent guy, despite the fact that hes a lawyer (is that an oxymoron?)
Hes a good father to his kids and wife
Hes been very good to my wife and my family through the years.
The strange thing is that Glenn is a 'waffling' atheist. He used to be an avowed unbeliever until his diagnosis...now hes beginning to find a little light of faith / belief... I guess staring at your own mortality and eternity will do that to you Ray was the same way, and by the time it was over, he had come to accept the ultimate reality God
Glenn's got a very rare genetic profile. He should be dead by now, but lo and behold a perfect match from half the world away. He's now using words like 'miracles' ... I pray that he has the time to recover and begin the journey to a living, breathing faith...
Thank y'all in advance.
James
