Who wants to do a hog hunt on Saturday, Feb. 4th, 2006 at Potts WMA?

Small Game - 30, no-cost, daily quota permits are available each day of the season. Permits are available, 1st come, 1st serve at the check station.

Wild Hog - No size or bag limit.

Where's Potts located? How about Panasoffkee? How easy is it to get on in Feb?

I wish some of the WMA's around here would set regs like that. Hogs are regulated by both size and bag and only during archery and gun seasons. They are off limits during small game and turkey. I could have wacked a nice 70-80# sow last turkey season.

Potts is located around Inverness and Hernando; don't know about Pana.

Could someone explain to me why there is only 30 permits for 7800 acres?

Ya'll should have came to Flying Eagle last weekend for the small game. I had the place to myself and even missed a hog at 15 yards :rolleyes: (hunting with my recurve).

Just keep it down about Pott's :pottytrai

Just got back from Potts this weekend.My son and I saw lot tracks none were fresh. According to the ranger at the check ponit during the dog-hog season the only had 3 hogs. Bird hunters this Saturday went empty handed also.

Did anyone see any turkeys? Those hogs maybe way back in the thick swamps as the water will be a little warmer for them.

We did our annual hog hunt at Green Swamp West Feb 3-5. A lotta rain on Friday and half of Saturday. A friend took a 140lb porker Sat. evening, another took a 115lb Sunday morning. My brother got a 130lb boar Sunday morning also. Not to be outdone, I put my stalking skills to use and bagged a 95lb and 130lb sow Sunday morning too. Thank God for our game cart, cause I sure wouldn't have wanted to make the 3/4 mile drag with 2 pork chops in tow. :)
