Lake Kissimmee, Shady Oaks...loss of access

I have spoken with Danny Brantly of the Kissimmee River Sportsmens Assc. regarding the purchase of the property by the SFWMD and future plans.

I will be calling Jerry Krenz, SFWMD Public Recreation Manager, tomorrow on the subject......we do not want to lose the boat ramp access to the lake.

I will be speaking at the SFWMD Water Resources Advisory Council meeting on Nov. 3 rd to the issue, Sponsor member Rob Barton is on the WRAC.

There is no reason to lose this access and there should be provisions for camping.

We may need the support of members' emails etc to specific politicians on this one.....Will advise.

See Kissimmee River Recreation Meeting Report for status. I have sent a group email to UW-F members requesting letters and emails to SFWMD on the subject. I will try to have the item added to the SFWMD Recreation Committee's agenda.
