you may want to look up kathy luthy or carol cassity in crestview FL.... Kathy is a pro and carol may as well be.... Also get with the Tallahasse HRC club, Wiregrass Club, and Mobile club to see if any of the three have members in your area. I know that there are some pretty well known field trialers down that way with nice grounds but i don't know names or anyway to contact them. Did you try RTF (Retriever Training Forums) i would htink that you would have alot more luck on that web site.

On a side note if your ever over here in jax are and would like to train let me know!! I do get over that way from time to time too so maybe we can get together

Hunt-chessie,

Thanks for the info. i notice with that 843 area code u must be from SC. i just moved from Spartanburg. I also wanted to say that i might be transfering to Jacksonville with my company. I work for Academy Sports and we are putting 2 store there starting november. I mainly UKC hunt test but I have trained with many pro for AKC.

Ahh.... I can't wait until that store opens!! It's going to be a welcome addition around here. I didn't know we had two of them coming... If you get over to jax look me up. We have a GREAT club here with LOTS of training grounds. We do two UKC tests a year here. Many other clubs within a couple hour drive do two or more test a year (UKC) then there is a jax and a tallahasee AKC club where you can get several AKC events also within a couple hours drive....

Blue - Second on the invite to train in Jax. Where is the other Academy going to be built? I understand one will be at Atlantic & Kernan Blvds.

Please put an Academy in Orlando area. I miss that store so much. I moved here 5 years ago and that is where I bought all my hunting , fishing, and camping gear for great prices.

On another note , are you guys training on the weekends any? I might be able to make it up that way if you can put up with a newbie.

Bandit,

dont think Academy will go to Orlando. Corporates say that to far south. We are opening the Orange Park store first in November but could possibly open both store at same time. Just an inside hint we are launching e commerce after holidays.

It will be nice to have a store close at the Atlantic & Kernan location.

There is a dearth of decent hunting supply stores in Jacksonville. Most everybody wants to sell only fishing stuff. Even the Wal-Marts on the east side of Jacksonville have gotten rid of their guns and most hunting supplies.

The Orange Park store is closest to the training ground. I'm sure there is a lot of housing around there especially rentals with the current economy. Not sure exactly where the store will be located, but traffic can be very heavy around O.P. at commuting time.

The Kernan Boulevard location is close to the beach and the Intracoastal waterway. There is a lot of apartments and townhomes recently built on Kernan to accomodate the nearby growing University of North Florida campus. They are about 3/4 through a new overpass at the Kernan and Atlantic intersection so traffic may seem bad right now, but it will soon improve.

You probably should take a day and drive around to see what you like.

Hand's down if I had a choice it would be the orange park store and I would live in middleburg or greencove. With the location of that store traffic would not be an issue and there is plenty of training going on out there. You'd be about 25 mind from the club property too

Well fellow it looks like if I get transfer it wouldn't be for the orange park store. just a little in sight the orange park store opens sept 3 and the other nov 12th. Well I hope I get transferred and look forward to training and joining your club.
