Just so you guys don't think we only hunt over Chessies, here are a few dogs we've hunted with and loved over the years.
First picture is Sniper. A great little black lab we hunted with on the Choptank River. This was first Canvasback opening in years - small limit: One!
We shot a bunch of geese after this. Believe it or not, Dick Cheney hunted over Sniper a couple of weeks before this and managed not to shoot the dog!
The second black lab was Delta. Owned by Capt. Travis Craven (on the left.)
Travis does inshore fishing in Charleston, SC. Guides in ND and Arkansas winters. Doug Heaton on right.
Third dog is Gracie, yellow daughter of Delta. Biggest ham I ever saw in front of a camera. Also owned by Travis.
Next yellow lab is Kahleigh, LPK's Costa Rica Kahleigh MH. Kaleigh has retrieved hundreds of ducks for us. She is owned by Capt. Doug Heaton of Charleston, SC and Tuttle, ND. Doug runs a 72' Tribute "Alican" out of Palm Beach between duck hunts. Last picture of Kahleigh is with my son and myself last November with some Snows, Cacklers, Redheads, and Mallards. We shot over a corn field in Hurdsfield, ND. Kahleigh missed the beginning of our season as she was in Texas competing in the Master Nationals with her breeder/trainer/handler Mike Berube.
Last but not least is my Diesel, who you've already seen. The pile of birds he retrieved over a water hunt on his second week of real hunting last October in ND. Just had to slide a brown one in there!
