I was wondering if anyone has ever used or has an opinion on Comfortis for treating fleas? Thanks in advance

I have heard some people rave about it, otherS not that impresses.
I have not heard of any detrimental effect on dogs.
I have also heard it said, not sure of it's accuracy that some fleas are becoming resistant to frontline.
IMO frontline is the best treatment available, combined with the yard sprayed with permethrin and growth regulator spray every 2 months during summer in areas prone to infestation.
I have had had some serious flea infestation in different areaS that I have lived, commercial pest control is useless.
Frontline is about to lose it patent, I can't wait for a generic to reach the market.
Hope this helps

My mother put a lab on it and my buddy put his rottie on it. It's night and day, it's worked wonders for them. My wife just put her little p.o.s. chihuahua on it and I don't see a difference.
Now I've got a ridiculous flea problem in my yard too. I'll look into the products mentioned here. This past week I sprayed the back with Dawn dish soap through a hose sprayer and I haven't had the first flea jump on me.

Back cast I think u are in Jupiter farms as well. I have flea problem too, certain areas seem to be the worst, I have been taking out the squirells and rabbits too help out,
I'll have to try the dawn, I wash my dogs in it,
If anyone hasn't tried it, it's the best to use on dogs, gets em squeaky clean and shiney.
Another product to try is over n out, granulated, fire ant killer, that brand contains fipronil, the same stuff as front line and is long lasting.
I hate pesticides but, my wife is allergic to fleas, and gets nasty sores, I do all I can to keep them undercontrol, but it's never enough.

Ok sprayed the front lawn last night along with the driveway and porch. Only had 1 jump on me this morning. Going to hit the back yard again this evening and probably the front in another couple of days again. My father in law owns a pest control service and has had good success doing this.

Only 2 potential problems with Comfortis. Should NEVER be used on dogs with a history of seizures. Also, it causes nausea in some patients. Often is reduced by splitting it in two and giving half in the morning with a meal and the other half in the evening with a meal.
I don't really push one product over any other (except to say that Vectra sucks, sent 2 grand worth back to the company). Right now, Comfortis is the one that most folks are impressed with and asking for.
As long as Frontline and Advantage have lasted, there was bound to be some resistance. It still works great for some people. My advice is to pick one that works and stick with it until it does not. Then switch to a totally different product. This lowers resistance chances more than bouncing around from one to another.
The dawn acts as a surfactant and overhydrates the larval and pupal stages. Evidence says it is not fatal, just delays hatching or development. It is sure cheap though, so let us know if it continues to work.
Back, if your FIL can get some methoprene, it works great as a growth hormone regulator on immature flea stages. Also, the middle of the yard (sunbaked areas) are not where your fleas are in great number. hit the shaded areas hardest.
