Whats the best stuff to keep ticks off your lab?

There are 2 options. The first one is only useful if you have an only dog or if the dog does not play with any other dogs. The reason is, the collar is toxic to dogs if ingested and I think the most likely way for that to happen is for 2 dogs to be rough housing and the collar come off. It is called the Preventic Collar and it is awesome. Causes the ticks to release from the dog as well.

Option 2 is a topical. Right now the 2 best are Frontline or Promeris. Promeris smells funny to a lot of people and has a lot more volume and is oily BUT it has the same ingredient as the Preventic collar, so it might be good against ticks. I can't vouch for it though, as I have only used it for Demodectic Mange patients. Frontline does an okay job, although I occassionally hear of resistance.
