Lizards?

Is it true that if a dog or cat eats a lizard they could die or just an old wives tale?
Friend of mine has a sick cat and thinks this could be the problem?!?!?!

"Lizard poisoning" is a common term for Idiopathic Vestibular Synrome. This is a sudden head droop, tilt, circling, leaning or rolling caused by an abnormality in the middle ear. The cause is unknown and has nothing to do with lizards.

I am sure there may some toxic lizards on the planet, but none which affect our dogs and cats that I am aware of.
