OK,first off I "cheated" and went to this place for pictures today
When I put up some Owl pix later, they came from the same place.

http://fl.audubon.org/who_centers_CBOP.html

Sun was out nice when we left the house and sun came back out on our way home but the whole time there the sun was behind the clouds.

I took over 50 pitures in all different f/stops,under exposed, over exposed and I just couldn't help but blowning out the whites on the Eagle's heads

QW,Hitch anybody else,is there something I could have done to tone down the heads in these pix????

Thanks gang!!!

DD:

These images are not that bad.. The only one that is really blown out is the first one.. It is hard to get the proper exposure with such a range on contrast between the white head and the dark body.. If you want, you might take the images in PSE and "darken the highlights" a little.., but as I said earlier, the first one is the only one that appears to be blown out, the rest look good..

One other thing you might try next time, spot meter on the white head and add about 1 1/2 to 2 stops of over-exposure. If this throws you, e-mail me and I will explain, or send me your phone number and I will call you..
