my folks bouht me a book the other day" a look into the Heart fo Waterfowling Successful Duck Hunting" by M.D. Johnson. In it i found something called the ten commandments of duck hunting in public land. I f early season numbers show what second phase is going to be like and with water levels dropping maybe we ought to pay attention.
1.Thou shall not shoot another mans swing. or birds working someone elses dekes.

2.Thou shall provide ample space between thineself and others. he mentions no one wants anyone setting up a mere 80 yds away. id stay alot further.

3. Thou shall know the effective range of thine own fowling piece.

4.Thou shall not use a duck call nonstop, nor blow at everything in sight.

5. Thou shall tear down quickly and effectively. Get out of the hunting area when your done dont waste time while others are still hunting.

6.Thou shall not clean your kill at the ramp. Nor the parking lot.

7.Thou shall be familar with and abide by the waterfowling regulations.

8. Thou shall know the area boundries and, though you maybe tempted by fowl or beast, stay within them.

9. Thou shall leave thine temper at home.

10.Thou shall work harder than most.

good luck. kill some ducks

Good book Randy, and the 10 commandments are something everyone should read before heading out to the marsh for duck season.

I especially like #4, though there could be an addendum, such as, imitating waterfowl flatulence strictly prohibited. For the life of me, I have tried, without success to imitate some of the calling I have heard in the marsh, none of which is any natural sound emitted by any duck known to man.

thanks guys i figure maybe if we all go out and try to be a little better who knows at least if the ducks dont make it down we might not be biatching about swamp donkeys ruining our hunts
