A Sad Loss

Indian River County hunters and fisherman lost an ally in the FWC this past week when FWC officer "Dewey" passed away. I am not sure of the details but what I am sure of is that he is leaving behind a wife and two small children. Dewey was a good guy to know, not the stereotypical game warden everyone hates.
Dewey, you will be missed......Godspeed.

Jeff,

I just wanted to let you guys that one of my Officers, Dewey Samples, passed away this morning on 7/24. He was 27 years old and was assigned to S. Brevard and Indian River County. He is survived by his wife, 3 year old boy, and 6 month old daughter. He was visiting his parents in Altoona in Lake County and passed away in his sleep. The cause of death is unknown right now. Funeral arrangements are tentatively planned for Thurs.or Fri in Umatilla in Lake County. Please keep Dewey's family and our law enforcement family in your prayers. Thanks.
