Thanx guys for another successful outreach w/ the FWC's Summer hunter's ed youth camps.

Throughout the Summer, both Wilbur and Phil (aka duckmanhr) dedicated Thursday afternoons to teach the kids alittle about duck hunting and alot about being sportsmen.

My hat's off to ya!

Thank you so much guys! That is a great program and all members are very greatful that you gave up so much personal or work time to run the seminars. Please take a minute while things are fresh in your mind and write out a few words about the camps. We would like to put a feature article in the pre-season newsletter on this subject. :icon_salu

Well here goes my few words about the camps. This has been a great opportunity to serve UW and these kids. Only about 10% of them said they had ever duck hunted, but most seemed to interested enough that maybe they will give it a try. Working with these kids has given me a great deal of personal satisfaction and has allowed me to put something back into duck hunting. I have already spoken to Cardinal Collins and said I will gladly be there next year. I strongly urge all members to take just one day and share your knowledge and experience with these kids, you will be glad you did. These kids are our future, its our responsibility to nurture and teach them to be ethical sportsmen.

Wilbur, You and Phil ( and all those who have done this in the past) are the reason for the success of UW-F.... A committed core of volunteers who give to the present and most importantly, future hunters of florida.
I am very proud to belong to such a fine group of dedicated sportsmen.

I cannot over emphasize how the pictures in the Summer Newsletter of Phil and Wilbur speaking to the kids and the front page photo of the Youth Hunt were keys in the "selling" of UW-F at the Dania BPS event. Thanks for giving our group the positive image that helps us succeed in our work for duck hunters.

The past 6 weeks were a blast. At first I was thinking my god what did I get into? But after the first class I felt we were doing somthing good. And each week got better. The FWC was very happy with UWF getting involved! It was amazing that they can get somthing like the camp going each year. We averaged about 36 kid's per class and all of the were there to get a hunters safty card. Thanks to Wilbur and Karen for all of the help UWF could not of done this without you. Thanks to Duke for making it happen. I hope that next year affords me the privalage of making it happen again.

And who Knows there might be a chance for someone else to help out.

It was fun.
