The July 20 publication from the Migratory Bird Management division of the USFWS indicates this coming season will be the same as last year with two exceptions. The scaup limit or number of season days will be reduced. The pintail season will be extended to all days. (The canvasback season will be 30 days as last year.) Limits on these two species will be one per day as before.
This is good news....and the duck producing areas seem to be in good shape at this time. Normally these recommendations are followed when the regulations are done in August.

The key word here is "recommendations"!! If i remember correctly they also recommended a 60 day season for Pins last year :pottytrai . Excuse me if I have my facts wrong. From the looks of things this year Pins are ready for a 60 day season. I hope Diane and crew agree!!

FWC should be "on board" with this ... statistically, the harvest of Pintails in FL is practicaly insignificant. ;)

That's good news on the pins. I'm getting tired of watching bull sprigs sail right over my dekes and laugh at me. Mike, come on over again this season, we'll schwack 'em!!!
Did they mention when the 30 day can season will fall during the season?

The FWC says they cannot change the rule this year and it will remain the first 30 days....but next year it will go to the last 30 days.
