We don't visit the vet much. Kaiser has always been a pretty healthy Lab. For the last week he has not been eating normally. For two days he would start to eat and then go throw up. The third day he ate normally but his bowl is full again tonight and he doesn't seem real interested.
Ideas?

Has anything changed in his routine? More or less training? Anxiety over family member being gone or out of town?
Does he seem in pain, uncomfortable etc...
How are his stools? Normal or not? Is he drinking water or not?
If my dogs don't eat for a day or two i'm not that worried, but I do monitor. If they aren't drinking nor eating then I would be concerned. Again, this must be different than his normal routine by now. My dogs get fed once a day in the evening. If they don't eat, they don't get fed until the next evening, so something is typically wrong if they don't eat for a full 48hrs.
I would go to the vet if by now he isn't back to a regular routine.

Well heck, sorry it took me so long to reply, but sounds like you figured it out. Was that a new food that he was eating or had he been eating it for a while? Unusual to suddenly stop eating, unless it was a new bag and they had changed the formula.

All my male dog's motto of life has been summed up like this:
If you can't retrieve it, eat it, fight it or breed it, pizz on it.

He just tried to eat a screwdriver.
Drink one, sure, but not while I'm working with it.

I had a lab that ate everything. Two of his biggest offenses were chewing the wiring off my boat trailer and taking a big chuck out of the back porch. Did your dog shallow the screwdriver?

Naw.
He moved to the drops of wood from the home project.

David,
Glad to hear all is well. Changing the food is a good idea. Watch out for Mega Esophogus. Very rare, but we just lost our Hunny Dog to it. She could not get any food through the esophogus and lost 25 pounds. I don't know how she lived the last six weeks but other than throwing up everything, she was normal and happy every day, until she started loosing weight. Good Luck!
