Many of us are rather passionate about these chemicals that are being sprayed in our waterways. We get many different stories from different agencies involved in the various locations around the state. I have decided to start a database log so that when we are talking to these agencies we can say "XYZ aquatic weed control company was spraying ABC chemical on XX/YY/ZZ date on THIS section of THIS lake and they were using airboats, helicopters etc. If you can find out who the client is that would be even better. Often however the folks on the airboats do not know who EXACTLY is paying the bills. It could be a county, it could be a WMD, it could be the COE, it could be FWC, or it could be DEP directly.
It is also unnecessary to be confrontational with the working stiffs out on the airboats. They have a job to do and they are doing it. We can get a lot farther by finding what chemical they are spraying, what their instructions are and who they are working for. If you pull up in your boat and start on a rant you're likely to get no where with specific information.
