Billings,Montana to Cooke City.Which will then take you in the NE corner of Yellowstone

123 miles took us 6 hours of 25 mph two lane winding road up the Beartooth HWY and too may photo ops.
I am sure if you were just driving and not stopping to take pictures you could do it in 2.5 hours?
Elevation goes from about 5500 feet to about 11,000 feet.

On the way up,some of the pictures you can see the switchback corkscrew roads.This was a cloudy,rainy day when we left at Billings at 0600

Awesome scenery!! I need to show the Chipmonk photo to my daughter. I couldn't get one to sit still in Canada.

Somebody crushed up a bunch of pretzels and left them in a pile.That is how I got him to sit still

Could you imagine discovering that stuff for the first time? That is if you survived the bears and winter.

yeap that would be pretty amazing of course you'd have to be pretty tough to make it in a winter out there
