We've inquired many times in the past as to why Holeyland and Rotenberger were not flooded. For those of you not familiar with the glades, these two WMA's are on the eastern border of STA 5. If managed properly, there is no reason they would not support similar duck numbers to the STA's. Due to the extremely wet start to the rainy season, the district is looking for any place they can find to store water. We have been told by district staff that Holeyland and Rotenberger are being flooded :icon_salu . This should open up an excellent new alternative to the STA's and Lox NWR for south Florida duckers.
